Gastrosurgeon Octavio Rojas Curriculum Life story

I graduated from the UNAM School of Medicine as a Surgeon with an average of 9.41 in the year 1977. After completing my Undergraduate Internship at IMSS with a final grade of "MB" in 1976, I did my Social Service at the Secretary of Health and Assistance at the "A" Health Center in Naucalpan de Juárez, State of Mexico, also with a final grade of "MB". My Professional Exam was in January 1977 in Mexico City.

 

My path in medical specialization began with my admission to the Introduction to Medical Specialization Course in December 1977. I was selected for the medical residency and completed my Rotating Residency in the Medical Services of the Federal Electricity Commission at the Spanish Hospital of Mexico from 1978 to 1979, with a final "MB" grade. Later, I did my Residency in General Surgery at the same hospital, recognized by the Superior Studies of the UNAM, from 1979 to 1982, with a better average of 9.5.

 

In addition, I also specialized in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, taking a course on Experimental Surgery at CICS IPN in 1984-1985 and a course at ALACE, SSA, from January 10, 1993 to February 4, 1994. During my career, I have also attended various postgraduate courses to continue updating and improving my profession.

 

Some of them include Comprehensive Basic Physiopathology courses at the Spanish Hospital, recognized by UNAM, Planning courses for Some Cancers at the Spanish Hospital and the Mexican Academy of Surgery, an Anesthesia and Trauma Update Course at the Mexican Red Cross. Among others.
